Conveniently enable secure building access and free up your staff with Visitor Kiosk, our modern exterior or interior video intercom. With Visito Kiosk, visitors can seamlessly and securely access your property by searching for residents using the digital display or scanning a mobile credential. As part of the VTS Rise platform, Visitor Kiosk is integrated with our full, end-to-end visitor management solution as well as your access control system, enabling contactless, secure access from entry point, to elevator, to unit. In this article, you will learn:

Configuring Visitor Kiosk Settings

Step 1
Upon logging into the Admin Portal, select Settings and then Property Settings in the left navigation menu.



Step 2
Select the Rise Kiosk Settings drop-down.


Step 3
Complete the fields listed.


  1. Maximum number of attempts allowed per day?: Set maximum attempts allowed for the Kiosk in a day.
  2. Call Resident via phone call when a visitor is logged via Rise Kiosk?: Allows Residents to receive a call from the Kiosk upon their visitor checking in.
  3. Call Resident via video when a visitor is logged via Rise Kiosk?: Allows Residents to receive a video call from the Kiosk upon their visitor checking in
  4. Show Unit selection on Rise Kiosk?: If No is selected, it will remove the ability to view Units in the Kiosk Directory, allowing unexpected visitors to search only by Residents name.
  5. Show/Hide Guest email input on Rise Kiosk?: Property Admins can select whether the email address input field for visitors is HiddenOptional, or Required.
  6. Show Guest company input on Rise Kiosk?: Option to include a field for visitors to input the company they belong to.
  7. Show Pin Code Input button on Rise Kiosk?:  If your property is utilizing PIN Codes, this enables individuals to enter their PIN code to the Rise Kiosk.
  8. Show call options on Rise Kiosk?: Option to add a phone number to call from the Kiosk, i.e. the Leasing Office.
  9. Enter a message to be displayed to visitors after they scan a Rise Pass not valid for that particular Kiosk: Property Admins can add a personalized message to appear if a Visitor Pass is invalid.
  10. Add Kiosk Logo Image: Logo to appear on the Kiosk.
  11. Set Dynamic wait time for visitor approval on Kiosk in minute(s): Set the amount of time in minutes the Kiosk will give the Resident being visited to approve or reject the Visitor when using the Directory or Delivery options.
  12. Capture visitor photo during Kiosk check-in?: For the Kiosk to take a photo of Visitors using the Directory, select Yes.
  13. Show/Hide Guest phone number input on Rise Kiosk?: Property Admins can select whether the phone number input field for visitors is HiddenOptional, or Required.
  14. Visitor Welcome Message: This message will appear after a Visitor with a valid Visitor Pass scans their pass at the Kiosk.
  15. Enter phone number to be called when an invalid pincode is entered on Kiosk: Enter a phone number that will be called in the event an invalid PIN Code is entered.
  16. Select name format for Rise Kiosk: Property Admins can decide how they would like Resident names to appear in the Kiosk. Options include FIRSTNAME LASTNAMELASTNAME FIRSTNAMELASTNAME FIRST_INTIAL, or FIRSTNAME LAST_INITIAL.
  17. Print paper badge when Rise Pass scanned at Kiosk?: If the property is utilizing a badge printer and would like badges to be printed upon a visitor checking in at a Kiosk, this can be set up here.

Step 4
Select Submit at the bottom of the screen to save your changes. 

Note: Your residents may also choose to remove their information from the kiosk in their profile section. 

Remove a Resident from Visitor Kiosk

If an individual resident requests to be removed from the Visitor Kiosk, this can be accomplished on their profile as well as in the Admin Portal.

Step 1
Locate the Resident that would like to be removed from the Visitor Kiosk. Select the three horizontal dots to the right of the person's name and select Edit from the drop-down.



Step 2
Deselect Do you want to show this Resident on kiosk? and select Save Changes at the bottom of their profile page.
See the next section on Auto Login to learn how manual updates can be pushed to a Visitor Kiosk.


Log in and out of the Visitor Kiosk using Auto Login

Visitor Kiosks will sync new Residents and Units to the Visitor Kiosk automatically overnight. In order to push manual updates, outside of the nightly syncs, you will need to Auto Login. Auto Login will pull new information added to the Kiosk and any configuration changes.


Note: If you do not see the option to Auto Login, reach out to support or your VTS Rise contact. If you do select Log Out, ensure you have the login info for your Visitor Kiosk.

Step 1

To complete an Auto Login, tap the Address in the top right of the Kiosk screen at least 10 times quickly. This will open the Hidden Kiosk Menu.




Step 2

Once this menu appears, select Logout with auto login to complete an auto login from this device.


Completing this will pull any updated Settings or new users from the Admin Portal to be shown on the Kiosk.


Step 3

Once completed, please access your Directory to see if the account is now being shown.



Note: Your device must be connected to the internet for an Auto Login to occur. If you encounter any network connection issues, please reach out to Support or your VTS Rise contact.


Log in and out of the Visitor Kiosk without Auto Login

Logout

If your property is not utilizing Auto Login, follow the below steps. 

Note: If you do not see the option to Auto Login, reach out to support or your VTS Rise contact. If you do select Log Out, ensure you have the login info for your Visitor Kiosk.

Step 1
Locate your property address in the upper right corner and tap on the address approximately 10x in quick succession.

Step 2
Select Logout.



Login

Step 1
Enter Kiosk login credentials provided by VTS Rise.

Connecting the Visitor Kiosk to a Printer

Step 1
Locate your property address in the upper right corner and tap on the address approximately 10x in quick succession.

Step 2
Select Printer connection settings.



Step 3
Select Bluetooth > Discover to search for nearby printers.




Step 4
Select the designated printer.

Alternative Steps
If you do not see your printer show in the list, please contact support@risebuildings.com.
You will need to exit the Kiosk app and open your iPad settings. From here, select Bluetooth and locate the Brother Printer in the Device List to Forget this DeviceOnce completed, return to Step 1.

Dymo vs Brother Printers

Dymo PrintersFor staff manually printing badges, a Dymo Printer is needed.
Brother Printers: For automation, a Brother printer is needed, as it is connected via Bluetooth. 

If your property is looking to have both options, both printers are needed.

Dymo Printer Trouble shooting

When trying to print a visitor or resident badge, if Chrome is displaying the No Dymo Printers Are Installed. Install Dymo Printers message please follow the below troubleshooting steps to restore the connection. If the problem still persists please reach out to support@risebuildings.com.

Step 1
Find Dymo Web Service in the Windows System Tray (lower right corner) and right-click on the Dymo icon. Select Diagnose...



Step 2
Select Yes on the DYMO Label Web Service window that pops up asking: Do you want to open a test page to check the certificate?
  1. If the pop-up doesn't display the option for a test page, proceed to Step 6 to install the latest driver version of Dymo Label Software.


Step 3
Chrome should open and display the following green message: 



Visit the VTS Rise portal and test print a visitor badge. 

Step 4 (if applicable)
If a browser other than Chrome opens, please ensure Chrome is set to be the default system browser and complete steps 1-3 again. 

Step 5 (if applicable)
If Chrome displays a Your connection is not private message:
  1. Select Advanced
  2. Select Proceed to local host.
The connection between Chrome and Dymo is restored if you receive the green Congratulations message from Step 3. Confirm connection restoration by visiting the VTS Rise portal and printing a test visitor badge. 

Step 6 (if applicable)
Uninstall Dymo Connect or older versions of Dymo Label.
Visit Dymo Support and download the latest version of Dymo Label Software. 
After installation is complete, restart the computer and revisit Steps 1-3. 

Change Printer Paper Settings

Step 1
Locate your property address in the upper right corner and tap on the address approximately 10x in quick succession.

Step 2
Select Printer paper settings.



Step 3
Select 60mmX86mm label size.
