Messaging for Residential Building Staff


Within VTS Rise, staff members are able to directly message residents and other staff members. These messages are instant and send a notification to the user allowing staff to reply through the platform without needing to disclosing their personal phone number.

In this article, we will cover where staff can send a message, how to send a message, and how staff can create group messages.

Sending a Message

Step 1 
To send a message, open the mobile app and locate the Messages feature.


Step 2
Select Create a Chat at the bottom of the screen.


Step 3
The following prompt will appear for Direct or Group Chat. Select Direct.


Step 4
The platform will now bring the contact list of every resident at the building that has messaging enabled. We can select the resident we need to start the chat message with.

Each resident is able to take themselves off the Messaging feature at an individual level through their profile settings.



Step 5
Send the message. Below is an example of a Maintenance Staff reaching out to a resident with a pending Work Order. 




Group Messages

Within VTS Rise, we also have the ability to send group messages to multiple residents at the same time. To start, when selecting Create a Chat, choose the Group option.



Step 1
Fill out the name for the group chat, as well as the description. Afterwards, select Add Participants to add residents to the chat. 



Step 2
Now select the users we want to add to the group chat. Select Done in the top right corner when ready to move to the next step.
 

Step 3
Confirm the information is correct and create the group chat with the button in the top right.



Step 4
The group chat is now created, you can send the message to everyone inside it.
