Preventive Maintenance for Commercial Staff
Managing Preventive Maintenance
With VTS Rise, staff can manage Preventive Maintenance in both the app as well as the web portal. In this article, you will learn how staff can manage Preventive Maintenance tasks as they become due.
Note: Preventive Maintenance Tasks will only appear when they are due to be completed.
From the App
Step 1
Upon logging into your property's app, select Work Orders from the home screen.
Step 2
Select the PM tab at the top of the screen to access the Preventive Maintenance tasks.
Step 3
Select the Preventive Maintenance task you wish to view and/or complete by tapping on the task.
Step 4
Select Complete Task from the bottom of the screen. From this screen, you are also able to Edit Task or Delete Task.
Step 5
A screen will appear to enter all applicable information about the PM task. Select Submit in the upper right corner to complete the preventive maintenance task.
- Hours/Effort: Enter the hours and minutes the Preventive Maintenance task took to complete.
- Task Details: Add any additional information about the task for record keeping.
- Enter used parts: Include any parts used in the task.
- Labor Rate: This comes from a predetermined labor rate set for the staff member.
- Amount: This calculates Labor Rate x Hours.
- Add Images: Include any relevant images of the Preventive Maintenance task.
From the Portal
Step 1Upon logging into
the portal, select
Work Orders.
Step 2Select the
PM tab from the top of the screen to access Preventive Maintenance tasks.
Step 3Select the Preventive Maintenance task you wish to view and/or complete by selecting the task.

Select Complete Task.
Step 4
This will open a window for you to input the details about the work done for the Preventive Maintenance Task.
- Hours: Enter the hours the Preventive Maintenance task took to complete. Will be combined with Minutes to determine Total Amount.
- Minute(s): Enter the minutes the Preventive Maintenance task took to complete. Will be combined with Hours to determine Total Amount.
- Task Details: Add any additional information about the task for record keeping.
- Parts Used: Include any parts used in the task.
- Amount: This will calculate
- Add photo or image: Include any relevant images of the Preventive Maintenance task.
- Labor Hours: This will add together the Hours and Minutes.
- Labor Rate: This comes from a predetermined labor rate set for the staff member.
- Total Amount: Total amount equals Labor Hours x Labor Rate.
