Slot Based Reservation Management for Residential Property Admins

Creating slot-based reservations for your building's amenities allows you to set a specified number of users to be able to book the space at the same time. This can be used as a way to control capacity in your amenity spaces.  In this article, you will learn how to:
  1. Create a slot-based amenity
  2. Change existing amenities to slot-based
Please note: You cannot switch an existing amenity to have slot-based reservations. Therefore, you must DEACTIVATE the existing amenities and then create a new slot-based amenity. You can always re-activate the amenities if you would like to revert back to the original setting. Learn more about Amenity and Reservation Management here.

Creating a Slot-Based Amenity

Step 1
After logging into your property's Admin Portal, select Operations and then select Amenities under Property Services.

Step 2
Under Amenities, select Add Amenity in the top right corner.

Step 3
Name the Amenity and give it a description. Under the description, select Yes for Should Amenity have a Calendar? This will open the options for the type of booking. Select Slot Based. This will prompt Additional Flat Price to appear. Here you are able to include any prices you will be charging for the Amenity. If no charges are required, set it to $0.

Step 4
An additional setting that will also appear, is the ability to choose whether or not bookings can be made for an amenity slot after the time has started. When bookings are not allowed after the time has started, residents will not be able to book that time even when there is availability.

Step 5
If the amenity has a door controller and beacons, then visit our article on Using Beacon Technology: Log Presence and Generate Presence Activated Push Notifications for more information.

Step 6
Navigate to Opening/Closing Time. Create and customize your bookable slots. Select the + icon on the bottom left corner to add additional slots.

Step 7
Select Submit when complete.

Changing Existing Amenities to Slot-Based

After an Amenity has been created, you are unable to change the Type of Booking. In the case an Amenity needs to change, for example, from Day-Wise to Slot Based, you will need to delete or deactivate the existing Amenity. Afterward, you will recreate the Amenity, this time selecting Slot Based under Type of Booking.

Step 1
Make sure you have all of the information you would like to include in the Amenity you are replacing. Check the existing Amenity for the information before deleting or deactivating it. To view the Amenity, select the three dots next to the Amenity you are going to replace with a Slot Based booking. From the dropdown, select Open. Copy and Paste the information or take screenshots to ensure you are recreating the Amenity with the same information.

Step 2
Deactivate or Delete the existing Amenity. Under Amenities, select the three dots next to the Amenity you are going to replace with an Hourly booking. From the dropdown, select Delete or Deactivate.

DeleteDeleting an Amenity will remove it from Resident view and from the portal altogether.
Deactivate: Deactivating an Amenity will remove it from Resident view but will remain in the portal.

Step 3
After deleting or deactivating, create a new Amenity by selecting Slot Based under Type of Booking. Include all of the information for the Amenity and select Submit.
