Door Controller Custom Configurations
Through the VTS Rise platform, we are able to configure how a door is unlocked and how how long the door can remained unlocked. In this article, you will learn how to add custom configurations to your door controller such as:
- Allowing staff and tenants to unlock the door from any location.
- Change the length of time the door remains unlocked after the unlock trigger happens.
- Restrict the door from being unlocked on certain days/times.
Allow the Door to be Unlocked by Staff or Occupants from any Location
Using a VTS Rise door controller can allow your staff and tenants the ability to unlock the door with or without being in the presence of a Beacon using LTE or Wifi.
This means your staff and tenants will be able to unlock the door from any location, whether they are at the property or not.
Step 1
Upon logging into the
Admin Portal, select
Advanced and then
Hardware.
Step 2
Select Edit to the right of the door controller name you wish to allow staff and tenants to be able to unlock.
Step 3
Select the radio box: Allow door to be unlocked without beacon presence?
Step 4
Select Submit.
Change the Length of Time in which the Door Remains Unlocked
After a door is triggered to unlock by a visitor pass, occupant QR Code, Mobile, or Door Access, the door will remain unlocked for a specified time to allow the individual to open the unlocked door in time before the door locks again. Default Configuration setting by VTS Rise is set for: 10 seconds, if you would like to change that, please follow the below steps.
Step 1
Upon logging into the
Admin Portal, select
Advanced and then
Hardware.
Step 2
Select Edit to the right of the door controller name you wish to change the unlock time.
Step 3
Indicate how many seconds you would like the door to remain unlocked in the Pulse Duration (in seconds) box. Select Submit to save your changes.
Restricting Door Access
If you would like to restrict access to a door during specific hours so that either no tenants, no staff, and/or no tenants will be able to unlock it please follow these steps.
Step 1
Select Advanced in the left navigation menu and then Hardware.
Step 2
Select Edit to the right of the door controller name you wish to change the unlock time.
Step 3
Select Yes next to Restrict access during certain hours.
Step 4
Select the day(s) and time you wish to restrict access.
Step 5
Indicate if you would also like to restrict access for staff as well. Select Submit to save your changes.
